Hornbill Enamel Necklace 18kt Gold Plate

We think the hornbill is a stunning bird and we always find inspiration from them. This tropical colorful painted enamel pendant was inspired by a photograph by Tim Laman of a hornbill eating a fig fruit. Rather than painting each fig fruit with a red enamel, we used faceted round ruby stones instead. Another subtle feature is the eye of the hornbill is a faceted jet black Swarovski crystal. Each enamel color was mixed and then hand painted to create this beautiful tropical scene.
